Bella Sue's Legacy
In loving memory of Bella Sue, a cherished companion whose life was tragically cut short, we celebrate her memory by creating a lasting legacy that aims to protect other beloved pets. Bella Sue's Legacy is a testament to the love we hold for our furry friends and the lengths we will go to ensure their safety and well-being.
Bella Sue was more than just a pet; she was a beloved member of her foster family and headed to her forever home. Her joyful spirit, unwavering loyalty, and boundless love brought light into everyone's life that she met. She was shy and it was hard for her to trust new people. Her bashful nature led to an unfortunate accident during transport, highlighting the dangers faced by pets who may be prone to wander or flee in unfamiliar environments. She backed out of both her martingale and FI collars.
In honor of Bella Sue's memory, Mad Rescue is proud to introduce a new initiative aimed at providing assistance to dogs who are flight risks. Through Bella Sue's Legacy, Mad Rescue will offer slip leads and leash/collar safety clips upon request. For high flight risk dogs harnesses are also available. These items are designed specifically to keep these adventurous pups safe and secure during travel or outdoor excursions.
These slip leads and harnesses will be provided free of charge to foster parents who reach out to Mad Rescue for assistance. Our hope is that by offering these essential tools, we can help prevent tragedies like Bella Sue's from occurring in the future and ensure that every dog has the opportunity to explore the world safely.
Bella Sue's Legacy is a reminder of the profound impact that our pets have on our lives and the importance of taking proactive measures to protect them. We invite you to join us in honoring Bella Sue's memory by spreading awareness of this initiative and helping us keep dogs safe and secure, just like she deserved.
Together, let us ensure that Bella Sue's legacy lives on, not only in our hearts but also in the countless lives we can touch through this meaningful initiative.

What is Bella Sue's Legacy
Bella Sue's legacy is this website which was created the day she was lost. As a result of Bella Sue's tragic loss MAD Rescue made the decision to provide additional resources and supplies to our foster homes. This includes the ability to order slip leads and harnesses through our ticket process for dogs in their care.
How? It's simple, order the desired supplies with a ticket. Do this prior to the transport with enough time for the supplies to arrive via USPS. This will be particularly beneficial to dogs who are shy and nervous around new people and situations.
MAD Rescue is determined not to let Bella Sue's death be in vain.

What are Slip Leads and Harnesses?
Slip Leads:
Just as the name suggests, a slip leash slides right over the dog’s head, and rests comfortably on the neck. It lacks a traditional buckle, but instead has a ring used to loop one end of the leash, creating a “collar” or “lasso” through which to put the dog’s head. The ring rests on the back of the dog’s neck. This type of leash resist the ability for the dog to back out of the lasso.
Harness:
A dog harness is a piece of equipment consisting in part of straps that surround the dog ’s torso and neck or legs. It is used to guide, hold, and/or lift the dog. It reduces tension on the neck when they pull, and provides free breathing during daily walks. Dogs can't back out of harnesses which gives added safety during a transport. It also gives a means to grab or hold the harness.
Please review the photos below for examples of each.
